Ola, India’s ride sharing firm is launched in Australia yesterday.

Ola vs Uber

Ola, India’s ride sharing firm is launched in Australia yesterday.

Ola launched in Australia

Indian ride-sharing car company Ola announced plans on Tuesday to enter Australia, marking its first foray outside its home market and intensifying its tussle with US rival Uber Technologies.

Bangalore-based Ola was set up in 2011 and has grown rapidly as more people bought smartphones.

It now claims to have about 125 million users in India, with around one million drivers across more than 110 cities.

Ola will begin inviting private vehicle owners and driver partners to work with it in the cities of Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, with plans to start commercial operations in the country in early 2018, the startup said in a statement.

“Cab sharing isn’t very new anymore and everyone is ready, but Ola may find it more expensive to lure customers and drivers initially,” Meena said

Ola, which still needs regulatory approval to launch in Australia, said it would offer a “high-quality and affordable travel experience”.

“We are very excited about launching Ola in Australia and see immense potential for the ride-sharing ecosystem which embraces new technology and innovation,” said Ola’s chief executive and co-founder Bhavish Aggarwal.

Both Uber and Ola have received heavy investment from Japan’s Softbank. A deal last week saw Softbank lead a consortium that bought a chunk of the US company.

Ola Vs Uber, who is Leading in india??

Suranjana Tewari, BBC News Mumbai

Home-grown Ola has been in a fierce battle with Uber since the San Francisco-based firm opened up shop in India in 2013.

The two firms now share 90% of the marketplace but there are different opinions on which company is bigger.

According to one report from research firm KalaGato, Uber’s market share touched 50% in mid-2017, while Ola had 44.2%.

But Uber is in just 29 Indian cities compared with Ola’s presence in more than 110 cities across the country.

Ola’s technological developments, that offer passengers wifi, films and music play well with the diverse Indian market.

And the move by an indigenous start-up to venture out of its home market in such a competitive industry is likely to be seen as a great achievement.

WhatsApp Business Features

So what’s the deal with WhatsApp Business? How does the app differ from its regular version which you are probably using right now? Here’s the list.

  1.  One of the most interesting additions here is that businesses can add landline numbers in the app. This is over and above the mobile number support. In the regular version, users can only add their mobile contact numbers.

2.  Another addition to the WhatsApp Business is that it is possible to see the statistics on the number of messages sent and received. This feature is missing from the regular WhatsApp version.

3.  You can also choose the type of business that you are registering. The app includes a decent list of options to choose from. However, if your business doesn’t match any of it, the business can be registered in ‘Others’ category.

4.  WhatsApp will verify business accounts with a green tick. “If you see a green badge next to a contact’s name, it means that WhatsApp has verified that the phone number of this contact belongs to a business account,” the company said in its blog post.
“We’re building and testing new tools via a free WhatsApp Business app for small companies and an enterprise solution for bigger companies operating at a large scale with a global base of customers, like airlines, e-commerce sites, and banks. These businesses will be able to use our solutions to provide customers with useful notifications like flight times, delivery confirmations, and other updates,” the post added.

5. WhatsApp Business logo is different from the regular WhatsApp app. Instead of the telephone icon in the middle, there is a ‘B’ icon for business.

Should Qualification be mandate for Politicians… ?

education politics
is education mandatory for politicians?

A strong economy begins with a strong, well-educated workforce”

– Bill Owens (American Politician)

As the quotation implies, to build a strong economy we need well educated workforce, I do agree that not only politicians but every field requires minimum education qualification. In this era, a person without education is treated as nothing. Mere experience can make them solve problems but can’t solve them with appropriate decisions.

Moreover as India is developing in education and technology, it is mandatory to know what’s going around in order to implement certain procedures in our area. And moreover education will increase their thinking capability and respect in people. What essentially is needed is to acquire the conceptual education than the academic education. For instance as an elected IT Minister you ought to know the basis of how things work and what are their applications . Without any specific knowledge you cannot manage the situation.

With this simple question you will get my point. Why do we need/prefer a leader with better knowledge and experience to manage a company but when it comes to manage a whole country/state we have not set qualification requirement, even a 12th passed candidate with no understanding of management, political science, our constitution/law or even our national anthem can be elected. Knowing is one thing, but knowing how that knowledge can be used is entirely different, its the difference between a scientist and a teacher, its a difference between a mechanic and an engineer and finally its the difference between a politician and a common man.

Hence in my view, politicians need education where he gains the knowledge of decision making which is useful for their profession same as we are educated for a management course to be a manager .

I would like to end it with a quote given by Jonathan Sacks…

The World we build tomorrow is born in the stories we tell our children today. Politics moves the pieces. Education changes the game.”

Robots will do keyhole surgery in Future…

latest robot surgery

Dear Readers!

coming years robots will be keyhole for surgery.
Cambridge Medical Robotics (CMR) has developed a device that could make keyhole surgery universally accessible and affordable.
CMR expect Versius to be the world’s smallest surgical robot, and one-third the size of the current market leader, the da Vinci Surgical System, which measures 36 inches in width and 68.5 to 97 inches in height. It integrates technology from mobile phones and the space industry in a robotic design that mimics a human surgeon.
Keyhole surgery has enormous benefits but technical barriers block access to millions of patients, who instead have to undergo more invasive procedures. The CMR offering is designed to overcome these hurdles.

Problems with keyhole surgery
Keyhole surgery is a minimally invasive procedure also known as laparoscopy that involves doctors stabbing tiny incisions into the body through which they can then insert thin, long instruments to conduct the operation. The result is that wounds can heal much faster and leave less scarring, but the cost and complexity of the procedure have kept it out of reach for most patients.

Surgeons have to handle long tools mounted on scissor handles while looking at the image of the operation on a monitor. The instruments are tricky to control and the two-dimensional image reduces their depth perception.

“Because it’s extraordinarily difficult, there aren’t enough surgeons who have mastered all the techniques, and because of that a great many people – about six million a year – still have open procedures rather than keyhole procedures,” CMR’s technology director Luke Hares told Techworld.
